Simple Steps That Will Help You To Paint Alloy Wheels

You must have noticed that over time the wheels especially the alloy wheels get dirt and start to look pinged and scratched. When they are just out of the box and brand new they look very impressive. Now you can make them look good even after it gets worn and torn without waiting for cheap alloy wheels or alloy wheels for sale. All you need to do is use alloy wheels paint and get a new look. You can use one color or more to paint all the wheels.

  • The first and foremost thing to do is to take out the wheels from the vehicle and the rims too. If you are unable to remove the rim on your own you could take some professional help or go to a garage and get it done. They might charge you a small fee for the same.
  • Use warm water and mild soap to make a solution and then scrub the wheels using the same. To remove dirt and any particulate matter you can use a wire brush. Make sure you clean them properly after that and dry them completely.
  • Once the alloy wheel is dry use a primer paint over the wheel. Make a light coating by doing to and fro movements quickly. This will make sure that the paint does not drip off or make puddles. Repeat the process so that the wheel is covered entirely without any old surfaces being seen.
  • Once the primer paint has dried you need to paint them using a color or more. Paint the wheel uniformly. It is preferable to not paint when the weather temperature is too cold or damp as the paint will not dry properly. If you are doing a two tone tire use masking tape to cover the area where the second color will be applied. Wait until the first color gets dried before painting the second color.
  • Use several swift strokes, light coats to give the wheels a top coat after the painting is finished. A top coat will make cleaning easier and protects the alloy wheels from the elements. The top coat will also give it a good shine.
